Endorsements are Ridiculous

Why do we care who Colin Powell endorses for the President of the United States? Is he an authority on who is best to lead this country? Well, maybe he is more of an authority than a newspaper, talk show host, or even worse, an A-list celebrity. Still, we have been inundated with these support statements as of late and it’s got me a little irritated. Take a look…
The following are current endorsements of entertainment note:
Obama
McCain
Don Cheadle
Ben Affleck Oprah Billy Crystal George Clooney Nick Cannon Will Ferrell Kareem Abdul-Jabar George Lucas M. Night Shyamalan 50 Cent Devo Tyra Banks Perez Hilton Hulk Hogan Booker T |
Dan Aykroyd
Jon Cryer Lou Ferrigno Erik Estrada Robert Duvall Elizabeth Hasselback Craig T. Nelson Joan Rivers Rip Torn Jon Voight Don King John Elway Richard Petty Curt Shilling Arnold Palmer Heidi Montag |
Now, let’s look at newspapers:
Obama
McCain
Chicago Tribune
Atlanta Journal Boston globe Detroit Free Press Washington Post |
The Boston Herald
New York Post Tampa Tribune San Diego Union Tribune Las Vegas Review-Journal |
Time for business people:
Obama
McCain
Warren Buffett
Jeffery Katzenberger Chris Hughes Dan Rooney |
Donald Trump
Charles Schwab Steve Forbes Meg Whitman |
If you are saying “Who Cares” right about now, then you are on the right track. If you give one ounce of credence to the presidential thoughts of Heidi Montag, Nick Cannon, or the “Hulkster,” then you probably should stay away from the polls on Election Day. The same goes for newspapers, businessmen, and world leaders alike. Make up your own mind America and pay no attention to the talking heads.

If you are going to tell me that Ponch is a McCain supporter, then my vote is cast my friend!

McCain does got some pretty cool supporters: 1 Chip, The Hulk, 2 Kings (Don and Petty), 1 Blues Brother, and 2 Coaches (Hayden Fox & Bud Kilmer). That may be enough to sway some undecided voters.

I so agree with you on this kind of thing. A bit dated now, but back when, what the heck makes Chuck Norris a qualified person to endorse someone? What is worse then people decide to support a candidate based on a celebrity endorsement. http://www.mephistos.com/2008/01/10/chuck-norris-teenagers-and-presidential-hopefuls/
