An American Tragedy

There is nothing worse then the bottom of the barrel, pointless tragedy America has witnessed today. 12 dead. In any situation this is horrible, terrible, awful…any word that is synonymous with bad. When the 12 people are waiting to go fight and, if needs be, die for our country, the tragedy gets magnified to unthinkable levels. Well, today we are saddled with this kind of loss. Killed by one of their own (presumably), 12 soldiers have been taken in a barbaric act. 12 families are now left asking why. America is left minus 12 very needed hero’s. I, and many like me, are left honoring and remembering those taken.

Paraphrased from Summer Sandercox “A Soldier”
A soldier serves his country first
and his life is left behind,
A soldier has to sacrifice what
comes first in a civilian’s mind.
If you are civilian -
I am saying this to you…..
next time you see a soldier
remember what they do.
A soldier is the reason our land
is ‘Home of the free’,
A soldier is the one that is brave
protecting you and me.
If you are a soldier -
I am saying this to you…..
Thank god for every soldier
Thank god for what you do.
