With all the NFL playoff buzz, we have been inundated with questions of “who is the best QB of all time.” Is it Favre? Manning? Brady? Perhaps a throwback like Unitas or Tarkenton? How about Elway, Marino, or Montana? Enough is enough! If you wanted to kn ow, you should have just asked me from the beginning. Here is how I see it…
First off, let me explain that I will not rank anyone that didn’t play during my lifetimeof memory. I didn’t see them play (or was too young to remember), …

So who out there is following Mestew on Twitter? If you’re not, you should be! And if Mestew had a dog, you could potentially follow that bitch on Twitter too. That’s right, Mattel has invented a great device for dogs to wear that sends out Tweets when the dog barks or moves. It’s called Puppy Tweets and I’m sure they’re flying off the shelves at your favorite pet store. When I read this story for the first time, the first thing that went through my head was, “it’s about time!” …

Another year of NFL football down, and now we approach another enthralling Pro Bowl game! The game that no one cares about, including avid football fans. Each year the game becomes more and more pointless. More and more players continue to turn it down, while the NFL tries to spin the event into comparable money making All-star venues of other professional sports. But the Pro Bowl lacks many key features that make it even marginally interesting. Basketball has the Dunk Contest, Baseball has Homerun derby, …

I had the pleasure of meeting Lukas last summer in the Kalamazoo Wiffle League. While talking after games one evening, he had mentioned that he played some local guitar gigs. One of which was a reoccurring session Wednesday nights at University Roadhouse. So, being the supportive friend that I am, I ventured over to give him a listen. Now Lukas is a star on the Wiffle ball field, but that’s nothing compared to his sound on the stage. He’s easily the best solo act I can remember hearing. He mixes in requests …

For those of you that know me, y’all know I’m a baller… fantasy baller! Yes, I’m a huge fan of the show The League and I probably laughed the hardest in Knocked Up when Paul Rudd gets busted at a fantasy baseball draft. I accept the fact that what existed of my coolness may have taken a huge hit with these admissions, but I am who I am. Fantasy baseball is within sight and one of my two leagues has just started its draft. Oh by the way, if fantasy …

In honor of Martin Luther King Jr Day, I wanted to share this article from the Detroit Free Press written by Zlati Meyer. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s last visit to the state of Michigan was just three weeks before he was shot in Memphis. He gave a speech at Grosse Point High School, March 14, 1968, in front of 2,700 people. The article touches on what Dr. King and the community both went through prior to and during his speech titled “The Other America.” Check it out.

Conan O’Brien and Jay Leno are at war over the same time slot. NBC has decided to bow down to Leno and let his chin to the talking. What a rip off! Leno had his run and left on what was pre-determined as his own terms. He had over 5 years to ride off into the sunset and make way for his replacement. He could have done it gracefully, but no. He took his act on to the 10PM time slot and failed miserably. When it finally came time to …

According to an AP article – Mark McGwire finally came clean Monday, admitting he used steroids when he broke baseball’s home run record in 1998. McGwire said in a statement sent to The Associated Press on Monday that he used steroids on and off for nearly a decade. “I wish I had never touched steroids,” McGwire said in a statement. “It was foolish and it was a mistake. I truly apologize. Looking back, I wish I had never played during the steroid era.” (rest of the article)
Some of you know where I …

The 40-0 Floyd Mayweather will not fight Manny Pacquiao after all. The March 13th bout is now canceled because of a disagreement over drug testing… or that’s what Floyd wants us to believe. Not too long ago, Floyd said he wanted Manny’s blood tested before the fight. You know, to protect the pureness that the sport of boxing is known for. Manny said no, but he’ll take the urine tests. His reasoning seemed legit to me: piss tests are easier to beat drawing blood a month away from the fight …

Let’s take a trip back to Algebra 101, Mestew Nation. Here’s something you’d probably see on your first quiz:
If A > B, and B > C, then:
a. A = C
b. A > C
c. A < C
d. Is it too late to drop the course?
If you answered b. A > C, then you’re well on your way to passing this class. Now instead of using letters, let’s use an actual story problem. Consider the same equation, but plug in the following college basketball teams for the following variables:
A – Western Michigan …
