Free at last, free at last

In honor of Martin Luther King Jr Day, I wanted to share this article from the Detroit Free Press written by Zlati Meyer. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s last visit to the state of Michigan was just three weeks before he was shot in Memphis. He gave a speech at Grosse Point High School, March 14, 1968, in front of 2,700 people. The article touches on what Dr. King and the community both went through prior to and during his speech titled “The Other America.” Check it out.

Party Like its 2009?

Oh god…It’s almost a new decade. What the hell happened to the last 10 years? Wasn’t it yesterday when we were ringing in the new millennium to the sultry smooth sounds of Prince? Since then, even Dick Clark has managed to age himself out of the annual change over process. Ugh, growing old sucks. Remember when a year seemed like it took forever? I want those days back. Oh well, I will just have to get over it. Let’s take a look at some major occurrences from the last 10 years…

Rollin’ down the street

This is a must-have for the TomTom GPS owner in your family this holiday season. It’s the Snoop Dogg Voice Skin. Most people that have GPS systems in their car are told directions by either an Englishman or some uppity chick. You make a wrong turn and right away, you find yourself yelling at the LCD screen “you think you’re better than me?!” as it corrects you. Well, with the Snoop Dogg Voice Skin, for $12.95, you can have the Doggfather himself navigate through your TomTom. Will this be on …

Tweet your fat stats to the world

Ever sit around watching tv and see something that makes you say, “Man, what a great invention! I wish I had thought of that!” This product does not fit that category. Instead, after I heard about this, I said, “Who the hell would buy one of those?” The product I’m referring to is the Withings WiFi Body Scale. It’s not your typical body scale that tells you your weight, body fat percentage, and BMI… it has wireless. And what does it do with a wireless connection to the internet? Tweets …

Never liked Verizon until lately

It seems like anyone and everyone has an opinion about cell phones and cell phone companies. One bad experience with a cellular service provider seems to be enough to keep a sour taste in mouths forever. Me, I’m a Sprint guy. I’ve had Sprint for a few years now and have enjoyed every minute of it. I’ve never been fond of Verizon’s high prices, T-Mobile’s lack of decent coverage and quality phones, and you’ll probably never hear me say anything positive about AT&T. Actually, if there are two companies out …

November 1 has never felt like this

What is happening? It’s the morning of November 1st and I’m feeling… feeling fine. No splitting headache. No dry mouth. My pillow and clothes don’t smell of smoke. There’s no wigs, nylons, or plastic jewelry on my bedroom floor. Something is wrong, definitely wrong. Gotta check Facebook… login… click Photos… WHAT?! Babies dressed like pumpkins? Children with trick-or-treat bags? Where are the slutty nurses?! Where are the skanky witches?! This can’t be happening! NOOOOOOO!
Everyone has their moments where they know they’re growing old. November 1st, 2009, the day after Halloween, …
